Representatives from all eight of the fire departments in Kingfisher County hosted State Sen. Darcy Jech and Rep. Mike Sanders recently at the Okarche Fire Station. Jech and Sanders were attending to present an honorary check representative of operational funds received by the departments from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Forestry division. The funds are to be used for the day-to-day expenses of operating the fire departments. The monies distributed are accounted for annually to the rural fire coordinator. Each department received $4,641.52, an increase of about 10 percent from last year.
