Barbara Stevens
Barbara Stevens gained her wings on April 22, 2019. She is now safe in the arms of her Lord and Savior and with family and friends who left before her.
Barbara was born on Jan. 1, 1937, in Kansas to Harvie O. and Alice Irene West.
She belonged to a large and loving family that consisted of four sisters, Delores Redwine, Darlene Brown, Midge McIlvain, Hazel Mullins and one brother, Harvey (Bud) West.
She married Roy Stevens on Sept. 3, 1952, and from this union came three children; Deborah, Roy Jr. and Mike.
They moved to Kingfisher in 1972. During this time she owned and operated Kingfisher Flowers for several years and later worked for Meals on Wheels where she stayed for 30 years.
She took this commitment very seriously and loved each and everyone she prepared meals for.
Other than family, the most important thing to her was her church where she actively served in many capacities.
As the years went by her family grew and grew. She now leaves behind not only sisters and a brother but her three children, a son-in-law Joel Lowes, a daughter-in-law Donna Stevens, nieces, nephews, numerous and very much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Meals on Wheels.
Her final wish as she left this earth was that one day she would see everyone she loved on the other side.
