Clifford ‘Cliff ’ Staude
Clifford “Cliff” Rudolph Staude was born Oct. 5, 1926, on a farm near Loyal to Rudy and Amanda Wehrenberg Staude.
He entered into his eternal rest Jan. 27, 2020, at the age of 93. He lived in Oklahoma City until moving to the VA Center in Clinton in June 2019.
Clifford grew up on a farm and was baptized and confirmed into the Loyal Evangelical Church.
He attended Loyal High School and graduated in 1944. He then served in the U.S. Army during World War II and also served in the reserves during the Korean War.
Clifford married his first wife, Juanita McElwee, in 1951 and they were married 23 years. They had three daughters: Marcia Staude, Lisa Staude and Sheila Baustert.
After farming for awhile, he then became an insurance agent and that became his major occupation.
His major hobbies were fishing, traveling in his motor home and spending time with family. He was also a photographer for the Oklahoma Firefighters Association for more than 10 years and, due to this, was named an honorary fireman. One of his greatest accomplishments was a square dance caller.
Clifford then married Lil Mayes in 1974 and had a stepdaughter, Marie. They were married for 40 years until she passed in 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Juanita, second wife Lil, and two grandchildren, Jesse Taylor and Kristopher Archer.
Survivors include his daughters Marcia Staude, Lisa Staude, Sheila Baustert and husband Gary; step-daughter Marie Kruger and husband Dick; grandchildren Tyffany Moore and significant other Don Yarbrough, Tyler Moore and fiancé Brittany, Billy Simpson Jr. and wife Brittany, David Simpson and wife Kristy, Lane Waters, Mike Waters and Mandi Harder; and step-grandchildren Paul Baustert and wife Angela, Jodi Bateman and husband Brian, and Kris Baustert and wife Miriam. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
The family is especially thankful to the VA Center in Clinton, the Shepherd Home Health and Hospice of Clinton.

A memorial service will be held at Loyal Evangelical Church at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, with Rev. Leon Seaton officiating. A dinner will be provided following the service.
