David Bowerman

David Michael Bower-man, 81, died Sunday, May 5, 2019, in his home after a long battle with kidney disease.

He was born to David E. and Edna A. (Bennett) Bowerman on Sept. 26, 1937, in Shawnee.

He attended school in Shawnee and graduated from Crescent High School. During his youth he enjoyed working on the farm with his mother’s youngest sister Aunt Ruby and Uncle Chester Jech.

Dave had an incredible work ethic and was proud of his work resume in the printing press business.

He was a loyal employee for AB Dick Inc. for 21 years and proudly boasted that he never missed a day of work.

After learning the printing business from his highly respected boss, E.B. Barron, he and his friend, Fred Zimmerman, launched their own business and called it Duplicating Equipment Repair. He and Fred were dedicated to their business for 21 years before they both retired.

His two favorite activities were hunting and fishing. He proudly shared those passions with his sons and grandchildren, and they were always his favorite topics of conversation.

Dave is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joyce (Martin) Bowerman of the home; his children, Joanie Walker and husband David of Crescent, Mark Bowerman and wife Theresa of Helena, Denise Massey and husband Gordon of Claremore, and Dale McCullock and wife Debbi of Arcadia; his grandchildren Jason Walker, Jeff Walker and wife Carrie, Tirzah Bowerman, Josh Atchley and wife Heather, Chris Caywood and wife Hallie, Heather Radloff and husband Joe, Josh McCullock and wife Katie, Zack McCullock and wife Jenna, Kaleb McCullock and fiancé Amy and Hope McCullock.

His real pride and joy came from his great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Kyndal and Layne Walker, Karleigh Atchley, Gavin and Fischer McCullock and Eva Mc-Cullock.

Additional survivors include his brother Ben Bowerman and wife Naomi and sister Mary Bowerman, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services were held May 8 at Sanders Funeral Home in Kingfisher with burial following at Calvary Cemetery in Okeene.
