Elva Gill
Elva Faye Gill, 90, passed away March 13, 2024.
She was born Sept. 15, 1933, to John and Francis (Hawkins) Buckner in Dover.
Elva was a dedicated sports fan. She cheered on countless games for her son, grandkids, nieces and nephews over the years.
She loved her Lomega Raiders and was their No. 1 fan and even had her own parking spot at the gym.
She loved to cook for her family and always had a ballgame on TV.
After many years of farming and running a dairy with her husband, Don Gill, she went to work at the first Walmart in Kingfisher where she worked for 27 ½ years before retiring.
She loved to be able to talk to people and catch up.
One of her favorite memories is when she got to go to Bentonville, Ark., and meet Sam Walton.
She was also on the Election Board for Kingfisher.
Elva was preceded in death by her husband, Don Gill; brothers and sisters, Sally Hixon, Leta Mae Stitt, Jack Buckner and four infant brothers.
She is survived by her son, Johnnie Gill and fiancé Carla Cox; grandchildren, Jennifer Gill and Bob Lenhart, Jeff Gill, Diana Bittle and husband Steve, and Blaise Bittle; brothers Randy Buckner and Pete Buckner.
Visitation will be from 2-6p.m. Sunday, March 17, at Sanders Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, at the Loyal Evangelical Church with burial following at Forest Home Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Sander Funeral Service.
