Fern Storm
Fern Lucille Storm was born to John and Sadie Christians on Aug. 8, 1933, in Champagne, Ill. She passed from this life
She passed from this life Oct. 15, 2020, in Kingfisher.
Fern’s family moved to Kingfisher where she attended Big Four School and graduated Kingfisher High School in 1951.
She attended St. John’s Lutheran College in Winfield, Kan., where she earned an associate’s degree. After graduation she began working at the Kingfisher hospital from 1953-1958.
She married Raymond Storm on May 3, 1956.
They raised their three children on the farm near Dover.
They were married for 52 years.
Fern began work at Solomon Accounting in 1966, then worked at Storm & Hauser for many years as a tax preparer, retiring in 2016.
Fern was an active member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, LWML, Willing Workers Extension Homemakers Club (serving in the past as county and state treasurer), Elks Lodge and various bridge and dance clubs.
She enjoyed needlework, gardening, furniture refinishing and playing bridge.
Fern traveled extensively with her husband Raymond and friends and family.
Fern is survived by sister Sarah Storm of Pismo Beach, Calif.; daughter Deborah Myers of Edmond; son John Storm and wife Lisa of Stillwater; son David Storm and wife Faye of Maud; grandchildren Paul Luber and husband Steven Johnson, Laura Luber Rutledge and husband Chris, Meredith Storm, Nickolas Storm and wife Sarah, Jonathan Cade Storm, and great-granddaughter Madeline Kate Storm.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Harold Storm, and half-sister Verna Slaven and half-brother Edgar Christians.
Graveside service was Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service, Kingfisher.
