James (Jim) M. Alig died Aug. 28, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City surrounded by his loving family.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Okarche with Rev. Cory Stanley and Deacons Max Schwarz and John Teague officiating.  

Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home. A prayer service was held Friday evening.

Jim was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Okarche and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School and was a wheat farmer and cattle rancher.

Jim was a member of Holy Trinity Church and Knights of Columbus. ››On Dec. 27, 1958, Jim married the love of his life, Frieda Bouquot.  Frieda survives him.

He deeply loved his wife and children. They loved hard work and family fun, particularly vacations at the lake.

Jim thought there could be no deeper love than that he had for his wife and children.   

Little did he know how much deeper that love would go when his grandchildren and great grandchildren arrived. They put a new spark in his eye and spring in his step. › ›In addition to his wife, Jim is also survived by children and their spouses, Mark Alig, Ed and Shelley Alig, Jamie and Kevin Maass and Dan and Waynette Alig, all of Okarche; siblings and spouses, David and Regina Alig of Okarche, Ann and Ray Schwarz of El Reno and Mary Jo and Marty Flahive of Dallas, Texas.

He is also survived by his grandchildren and spouses, Jared Alig, Brittani Alig, Lexy Alig, Chelsea and Mark Golbek, Chris and Johna Alig, Jessica Lovins, Chandler and Cristina Maass, Shanda Alig, Natalie Alig and Erin Alig. › ›Also surviving are great-grandchildren Cord Alig, Chloe Golbek, Mason Alig, Rylan Alig, Greyson Alig, Mack-son Alig, Wyatt Lovins, Gunnar Lovins, Colt Lovins and Chesni Maass. ››His parents, George L. and Marie Gassen Alig, and sister and brother-in-law, Alice and John Harvey, mother and father-in-law, John and Frieda Bouquot, brothers-in-law John and Jimmy Bouquot and sister-in-law Mary Bouquot preceded him in death. ››Memorials may be made to Saint Katharine Retirement Center in El Reno or Holy Trinity Church in Okarche.
