James ‘Jim’ Bruner Jr.
James (Jim) Everett Bruner, Jr., passed away Jan. 10, 2024, with his wife by his side. Jim was born in Mansfield, La., on Aug. 11, 1951, to the late James and Catherine Bruner. Jim graduated from Hennessey High School in 1969. Shortly after high school, Jim volunteered for the U.S. Army.
Jim married Virginia (Ginny) Randolph in Mt. Vernon, Ill., in 1974 and remained steadfastly married for 49 years.
Jim and Ginny moved to Hennessey shortly after marrying and made Hennessey their home.
Jim served the Hennessey Church of Christ as an elder for many years.
Jim is survived by his wife Ginny Bruner; sons, Chad (Jennifer) Bruner of Edmond and Christopher (Jennifer) Bruner of Anna, Texas; and grandson, Wyatt; brothers Bill Bruner of Tulsa and Mark Bruner of Hennessey; and sisters Dot Goodpasture and Kay Chatterji, both of Enid.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kerri Marie.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Hennessey Church of Christ officiated by Lanny Jobe.
