Margie Reinart Metzler was born July 24, 1932, in Okeene and passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at the age of 87.

Margie graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Okeene and was a lifetime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Okeene.

She married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Pfaff, in Okeene on Sept. 9, 1952, and moved to Denver, Colo., soon after.

Joe was the love of her life and together they had three children: Debbie, Diane and Kevin.

While in Denver, Margie worked in a doctor’s office and also became a cosmetologist.

Sadly, Joe passed away in 1963 and Margie took on the responsibility for raising the children, who were always her first priority, throughout the rest of her life. Margie loved sewing,

Margie loved sewing, quilting, gardening and decorating and one of her most endearing features was the infectious smile that was always present on her face.

Everyone she met always commented on her sweet smile and gentle nature.

She will always be remembered for that sweet smile.

Margie is survived by her three children, Debbie (Terry) Ott of Scenic, Ariz., Diane (Gary) Carpenter of Lakewood, Colo., and Kevin (Dana) Pfaff of Okarche.

She has six grandchildren: Ben Krieger, Dan Krieger, Sarah Carpenter, Brittany McCracken, Tyler Pfaff and Kyle Pfaff.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Jerome, Bill and Bob Reinart.

Funeral services for Margie Metzler were Tuesday, May 26, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Okeene.

Burial followed in the Calvary Cemetery in Okeene.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to support Alzheimer’s and dementia research.

Wilkinson Mortuary in Okeene was in charge of arrangements.
