Oteka Pappe

Oteka Pappe, Kingfisher, was born July 7, 1927, to J.E. and Florida Clemons Fanning in Wynnewood and died Sept. 25, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Kingfisher. She was 92.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Federated Church in Kingfisher officiated by Dennis Baker. Burial will follow at Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.

There will be visitation with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday Sept. 30.

Oteka married Court Pappe, Jr,. in Maysville on Feb. 12, 1955.

Early in her marriage, Oteka was one of the first volunteers at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.

She was a member of Federated Church as well as the Women’s Circle. She taught Vacation Bible School and was very active in her children’s activities. Oteka was a member of multiple bridge clubs and was an avid traveler.

Oteka is survived by her daughters Pamela Pappe, Courtney Diane Pappe, Janet Lynne (Pappe) and husband William Pinkston all of Kingfisher; nephew Don Fanning and wife Dianne, niece Debbie Hannah and husband Steve, all of Houston, Texas; nephew Johnny Pappe and niece Donna Thomas, both of Kingfisher; niece Anita Hoskin and husband Mike of Atlanta, Ga. She was G-ma to fur-grandbabies Baby Jolie Pappe, Payson, Sparky, and Isabella Pinkston.

Oteka was preceded in death by her parents J.E. Fanning and Florida Nation; husband Court Pappe, Jr; stepfather Bill Nation; brother J.E Fanning and sister-in-law Darlene Fanning; brother-in-law George Pappe and sister-in-law Dawn Pappe.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to Russell Murray Hospice, Free to Live Animal Sanctuary or Memory Lane in Kingfisher with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
