Peggy Colleen Thiems was born Oct. 27, 1940, to Paul Wayne and Melba Catherine Curtis in humble surroundings full of love.

She attended grade school and high school in Dover, where she was FFA Sweetheart in 1956 and graduated with honors in 1958.

Peggy gave her life to Jesus Christ on March 27, 1955, and as a born again believer she followed Christ the rest of her life. She shared the Love of Jesus with her family and others through her actions and words.

Peggy met the love of her life while dragging Main Street in Kingfisher and was married on June 26, 1960, to Oscar Thiems at the Dover Christian Church.

They celebrated 62 years of continuous love together this year.

They raised three children, Monte Alan, Marla Anne and Marcia Lynn.

Peggy worked for Solomon Abstract for 40 years.

She and Oscar retired together on April 1, 2010, and traveled to many states. She enjoyed attending southern gospel concerts, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends, attending events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing Mexican train dominoes at Senior Fun Night at the church, cooking wonderful meals for family and friends and having coloring parties with her great-grandchildren.

Everyone who knew her loved her and she had the sweetest spirit, always selfless and caring.

Peggy enjoyed eating at Charleston’s, which was her favorite restaurant.

Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She was the best mother to her kids and a wonderful friend to everyone who knew her. Momma was adored by her children; she was their biggest cheerleader, encourager and prayer warrior. She entered Jesus’ glory on Nov. 7, 2022, at the age of 82.

The survivors who will miss her dearly are her husband of 62 years, Oscar; children, Monte Alan and Sandy of Owasso, Marla Anne Pringnitz and Doug of Kingfisher and Marcia Lynn Caldwell and Mike of Yukon; sister Marlita Peters and Orval of Kingfisher; and sisters-in-law Christine Curtis of Mustang and Ellen Louise Curtis of Enid; grandchildren Zac Thiems of Owasso, Sarah Thiems of Houston, Texas, Mark Pringnitz and Heather of Kingfisher, Conner Pringnitz and Jessica of Okarche, Katelynn Caldwell of Yukon, Austin Caldwell of Yukon; great-grandchildren Hadlee and Henslee Pringnitz, Brylinn Pringnitz and Cashton Caldwell; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Wayne and Marvin Curtis and grandson Jordan Micheal Caldwell.

Services were Friday, Nov. 11, at Dover Christian Church under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
