Susan Stetson Smith, 89, of Omega, passed from this life to a better one July 25, 2019, in Enid. A service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Grace Mennonite Church in Enid.

Sue was born on April 17, 1930, to Lottie and Ezra Stetson in Kewanee, Ill.

She was the youngest of six children. She had two brothers, Don and Bob, and three sisters, Jane Bennett, Helen Smith and Carolyn Bond.

She graduated from Neponset High School then attended Augustana College before completing her degree at Oklahoma State University.

She loved to teach and taught kindergarten in Wichita, Kan., before marrying Bob Smith June 16, 1954. They resided in Rancho Cordova, Calif., where she taught before starting her family.

In 1971, Sue and Bob returned to farm in Omega.

The Bible, Christian faith and relationships with family and friends were Sue’s strengths. God blessed her with joy, a positive outlook, a love for people, and a beautiful singing voice which she used to glorify Him.

She was an attentive and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Stephen Smith and wife Sandy of Franklin, Tenn., and Warren Smith and wife Rosa of Omega; two daughters, Suzanne Johnson and husband Ad-rick of rural Jet and Kathleen Stoltzfus and husband Tony of Redding, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

All are invited to a memorial service to celebrate her life which will be held at Grace Mennonite Church with Pastor Richard Stevens officiating.

She will be interred in the Omega Cemetery.
