Blue Sox reach state in coach pitch

Kingfisher Little League has a second team headed to an OK Kids state tournament this summer. The Kingfisher Blue Sox won their coach pitch regional last weekend in Woodward to advance to this week’s state tournament in Clinton. The team, consisting of players 8 years old and younger, went 5-1 at the regional. The 16-team state bracket began Tuesday and runs through Saturday. Kingfisher is a part of the Blue bracket and played the Ada Seals at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in its opener. Other teams in the Blue bracket are Elgin, Morris, Shawnee, Sallisaw, Ada Wood Ducks and Weatherford. Teams in the Red bracket are Blanchard, Stilwell, Durant, Apache, Morrison, Henryetta, Atoka and Clinton. Games will be played at ACME Brick Park, 600 S. 28th St. Following is a schedule for the Blue bracket:
