It was Buck season inside Dover’s gym on Tuesday night.

Siblings Rylee and Casen Buck combined for 10 3-pointers as the Dover squads dominated Cimarron in a home sweep.

A junior, Rylee Buck notched four of her five treys in the first half in the Lady Longhorns’ 72-7 rout over Cimarron.

Coming off last Friday’s win over Lomega, Dover was a bit sluggish offensively to start the game, but the defense gave it time to warm up.

The visitors were held scoreless for the first three quarters and didn’t score a point until 3:28 remained in the game.

Cimarron didn’t make its first field goal until 1:52 remained.

By that time, Dover had knocked down nine 3-pointers for the game.

Buck made two in each the first and second quarters.

She had 14 of her gamehigh 17 points by the half.

Dover also got 12 points apiece from Karlee Harviston and Katelyn Harviston.

The senior twins both knocked down two 3-pointers.

Joi Caldwell added 10 points while Ashley Gamez scored all nine of her points in the first half.

The Longhorns didn’t pitch a shutout through three quarters, but they did put their visitors in the defensive clamps for a long stretch.

Cimarron went without a point in the second and third quarters as Dover rolled to an 80-10 victory.

Six different Longhorns scored in the first quarter as they blitzed their way to a 30-5 lead.

Lucas Conrady scored eight points and Casen Buck knocked down two 3-pointers, but it was Jessy Price who “stole” the show at the end of the quarter.

The freshman buried a 3-pointer with five seconds left, then stole the inbounds pass and laid a shot off the glass at the buzzer for a quick five-point flurry.

Price had 12 of his 14 points in that first quarter.

Buck stayed hot in the second quarter as he buried three more treys.

He had all 17 of his points by the half.

Dover outscored Cimarron 23-0 in the second quarter and then 20-0 in the third.

Conrady finished his night with 16 points while Nathan Cohee scored 10.

The victory evened the Longhorns’ season record at 1-1.
