CHS is Game Day state runner-up

Cashion High School cheer repeated Saturday as state runner-up of the OSSAA’s Class 2A Game Day state competition. For the second straight year, Cashion finished behind Turpin. Cashion was fourth after the preliminary round which included categories for fight song, crowd leading and band dance. Cash-ion scored 523 points in the preliminary, which sent the top-six scores to the finals round. Among those also advancing was Crescent, which was fi fth after the preliminaries with 519 points. In the fi nal round, Cashion scored 178 points for fight song/band dance and 145 for crowd leading for a total of 323. Turpin won with 333 points. Arkoma was third with 322 and Crescent fourth with 311. The Cashion squad is coached by Amber Hob-good and Casi Williams.
