Two Kingfisher girls brought home medals from last weekend’s Junior High All-State Wrestling Tournament at State Fair Arena.

Cattie Crum was third at 133 pounds and Taygen Otey fifth at 123.

Crum earned her bronze medal when she pinned Team Choctaw’s Carlee Koos in 1:34.

That came after the eighth grader earned a sudden victory against Karleigh Miller of Perry in the consolation semifinals.

Crum started her bracket with a 9-2 decision against Perry’s Peyton Reaves.

Alexa Schultz of Broken Bow then pinned Crum at 2:55 of their quarterfinal.

Schultz went on to win the 123-pound championship.

Crum got a bye and then won by forfeit in the next two rounds to set up her showdown with Miller.

Otey also lost early in her bracket as she was defeated 6-0 by McLoud’s Chelsie Wright in the second round.

The freshman then got to work with four straight wins.

She picked up an 8-2 decision over Del City’s Kyrah Ware and then defeated Yu kon’s Tatum Noel 3-0.

Hinton’s Sammy Kuzmenko lasted 1:14 before she was pinned by Otey.

In the fifth consolation round, Otey outlasted Oklahoma Wrestling Academy’s Aubrey Redding, 2-1.

Victorya Cox of Cache ended Otey’s win streak in the consolation semifinal.

Otey didn’t wrestle again as Yukon’s Brooklyn Huggins had to default the fifth-place match due to injury.

There were 21 wrestlers in Otey’s bracket.
