Hennessey’s Torres gets OCA All-State selection
Other county players named all-stars by class
Jael Torres isn’t quite finished representing the Hennessey High School boys basketball program.
The Eagle senior last Friday was announced as a selection to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team.
Torres was named to the Small West team, which consists of 10 players from Class 3A down to Class B.
The Small West will play selections from the Small East at the annual OCA All-State Games the last week of July in the Tulsa area.
Torres averaged 14.6 points. 6.8 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 assists for the Eagles during his senior campaign.
He helped lead them to a 25-5 record and a spot in the Class 2A semifinals.
For his career, Torres totaled 1,518 points.
He was one of five players from Kingfi sher County to be voted an all-star in their respective classes.
Joining him in Class 2A was his Hennessey teammate James Sims, who averaged 13.4 points this season, and Cashion’s Nathan Nabavi, who averaged 10.7 points for the Wildcats.
Class A picks from the state champion Okarche Warriors were seniors Wyatt Pinkerton (11.3 points) and Caden Schieber (7.9 points).
