Hennessey earns TRC road sweep
Hennessey’s defense put the clamps on Crescent in the final three quarters Tuesday to earn a 47-26 road win.
Aja House made a trio of 3-pointers in the first quarter to help Crescent to a 14-7 lead.
House didn’t score again until the fourth quarter and Crescent didn’t score more than six in any of the final three frames.
That allowed Hennessey to mount its comeback, which happened quickly.
Emma Copeland, Kadee Meeker and Ally Painter scored five points each in the second as Hennessey went on a 16-4 run.
Star Torres then scored nine of her points in the second half as the Lady Eagles built on their lead.
Meeker led the balanced attack with 12 points while Torres finished with 11.
Copeland added eight and Painter scored seven.
Eagles start fast
A dominant first quarter propelled Hennessey to a 62-52 win Tuesday at Crescent.
Three different Eagles scored eight points in the opening frame as the Eagles got out to a 26-10 lead.
Crescent tightened the gap, but was never able to close it.
Aiding the hot start were James Sims, Camdyn Richardson and Jael Torres.
Sims and Torres each had four field goals in the first while Richardson nailed a pair of 3-pointers as part of his output.
Sims added seven in the fourth while Torres scored six to help the Eagles hold off the home Tigers.
Sims led the way with 21 points while Torres scored 20.
Richardson finished with 16 as Hennessey improved to 6-1.
