Hennessey’s offense finally came alive in the second half to help give the Eagles a win in their season opener.

Jael Torres had a huge third quarter and Cristian Rodriguez followed suit in the fourth as Hennessey earned a 55-49 come-frombehind win at Fairview.

The Eagles scored just six points in the first quarter and found themselves trailing by a dozen.

They had just one field goal in the second, but began to chip away at their deficit and trailed 25-17 at the half.

The Eagles’ total nearly doubled by the end of the third.

Torres had four field goals - as many as the entire team in the first half - and scored nine points as the Eagles pulled within 33-32.

Rodriguez then caught fire with three 3-pointers and 12 points in the fourth as the visitors closed on a 22-17 run.

Timmie Perry added two of his four 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as well.

Perry scored 16 points in his debut with the team.

Rodriguez ended his night with 17 points. Torres scored 11.

Lady Eagles fall in Markes’ debut

Fairview’s one-two punch of Olivia Redhat and Macy Nightengale were too much for Hennessey to overcome.

The duo combined for 33 points as Fairview knocked off the Lady Eagles 47-38 on Tuesday.

It was the debut of new Hennessey girls coach Courtney Markes.

Her team got off to a 12- 10 lead in the first quarter.

In that frame, Katie Kennedy scored four points and Harlee Dowell and Julianna Macy both made 3-pointers.

While the Lady Eagles kept up that pace in the second, Fairview started to build its lead with 18 points.

The Lady Jackets continued to slowly build it from there.

Redhat scored nine points in the fourth quarter and 17 for the game.

Nightengale added 16 points.

Hennessey got 13 points from Kennedy.

Kassidy Amburn scored seven.
