Three Kingfisher County teams - outside of the Kingfisher girls - and three more individuals from county schools have advanced to this weekend’s state cross country meets.

Lomega has landed both squads at state after last weekend’s 2A regional at Waurika.

The girls scored 122 points to take fourth place.

The Lomega boys tallied 111 points, also good for fourth.

The top-seven teams in 2A, 3A and 4A - as well as the top-seven individuals from non-qualifying teams - move on to state.

That means the Hennessey girls will make a second straight appearance at the 3A state meet.

They took sixth in their meet at Enid.

The Lady Eagles were led by a pair of medalists in Taryn Jech and Jamie Torres.

Jech was seventh and Torres eighth and both finished the two-mile course in under 13:49.

Jazzy Bullis ran 26th overall (24th in score placing) to also give the Lady Eagles a big boost.

They finished one spot and one point better than Prague.

Alva won the team title with 91 points.

In the 2A girls race at Enid, Cashion’s Addison McCracken finished seventh and became an individual qualifier.

Gage Bedick of the Cashion boys also accomplished the feat. He took 20th place overall.

In the 4A boys at Enid, Kingfisher’s boys were unable to qualify as a team, but senior Conner Hine has one more race left.

Hine ran 18th overall and is an individual qualifier.

Aubree Geisler and Kate Myers got top-20 finishes in score placing to help lead the Lomega girls.

Geisler was 15th in score placing and Myers 19th.

Monse Rivera finished 27th and Madi Myers 28th.

According to coach Justin Edsall, Lomega girls haven’t reached state as a team since the early 2000s when it was in a co-op with Ringwood.

Austin Chestnut ran 14th in the boys race to lead the Raiders.

Jonah Pendergraft, Brooks Uhlenhake, Kelby Ott and Jesse Johnston all had top-30 finishes.

State for all classes is Saturday at Edmond Santa Fe High School.

The 3A girls run at noon.

Class 2A’s girls compete at 1:20 p.m. and the 2A boys at 1:40 p.m.

Class 4A is the last to run.

The 4A girls are at 2:35 p.m. and the boys at 2:55 p.m.
