Initial basketball rankings released

The first basketball rankings of the 2019-20 season were released Monday by ossaarankings.com.

No Kingfisher County teams were ranked No. 1 although two of them received the most No. 1 votes in their respective classes in the polls that are voted on by coaches.

The Kingfisher High School boys are currently No. 2 in Class 4A. The defending state champs received 37 fi rst-place votes, which is 30 more than Heritage Hall, which is ranked No. 1.

Heritage Hall finished with 858 total points while KHS has 849.

The Lomega girls also got the most No. 1 votes in Class B, but are ranked third.

Lomega got 18 first-place votes. Seven different teams in the class got first-place votes.

Leedey, which is coached by Cashion native Luke Broadbent, is currently No. 1.

Other rankings of interest include:

• In boys, Hennessey is 19th in 3A, Cashion 13th in 2A and Lomega 13th in B.

•In girls, Okarche is seventh in A, Cashion 18th in 2A and KHS is 19th in 4A.
