KHS girls tennis 2nd at Hub City

The Kingfi sher High School girls tennis team brought home more than just rackets last Friday from the Hub City Classic tournament at Clinton. The Lady Jackets placed second as a team in the one-day tournament. Members are, from left: Sydney Burk, Giulia Scano, Mia Franco, Emiley Watkins, Kadyn Daugherty and Jaelin Cortes. Franco was the runner-up in No. 1 singles while Watkins was second in No. 2 singles. Daugherty and Cortes teamed up to take second in No. 1 doubles. Burk and Scano competed in No. 2 doubles. On the boys’ side, Coleman Gilles and Wyatt Long (not pictured) were third in No. 1 doubles. The tennis teams are coached by Brad Pennock. [Photo provided]
