    Kingfisher Yellowjackets

Two players scored in double fi gures and seven overall as the Kingfisher eighth grade girls remained unbeaten. The Lady Jackets dominated from the tip en route to a 37-25 win Monday against Blanchard at the APB. Peyton Walker scored 12 points and Siera Stitt 10 as Kingfi sher improved to 6-0. Walker scored five as part of a 13-4 run in the fi rst quarter. Stitt scored five of her own in the third when the team held off a brief Blanchard rally. Kate Henderson added fi ve points for KMS, which earlier this season won the Canadian Valley Conference Tournament as part of its fast start.

7th girls move to 4-1

Kynli Boeckman single-handedly outscored the opponent as Kingfi sher’s seventh grade girls grabbed an easy win last Monday. Boeckman scored 17 points as part of a 38-11 victory over Blanchard at the APB. The Lady Jackets moved to 4-1 with the victory. Boeckman had six points as Kingfisher got out to an 11-4 lead in the fi rst. Kadyn Daugherty chipped in fi ve along with Boeckman during a 12-2 run in the second. Daugherty scored eight points for KMS. Addison Wilson added seven and Reagan Snider scored six.

Lions top 7th boys

Kingfisher’s offense stalled in the middle two quarters and that was enough Monday to allow Blanchard to escape with the win in the seventh grade boys game. The Lions knocked off the Jackets 24-17 at Heritage Gym. Kingfisher led 6-4 after the fi rst quarter as Lucas Conrady scored all of his team’s points. Conrady had just two points the next two frames as Blanchard outscored KMS 14-6. The Jackets couldn’t close the gap in the fourth. Conrady led the team with 13 points. Carter Kitchens and Maddox Jarvis scored two apiece as Kingfi sher’s record dropped to 2-4. The two wins came at the Canadian Valley Conference Tournament where they fi nished runners-up.

Late rally not enough for KMS

Blanchard survived a late Kingfi sher rally last Monday to earn a 32-29 victory in the eighth grade boys game at Heritage Gym. The Lions led 25-16 after three quarters before Kingfisher made its fourth-quarter charge. That charge was led by Cade Covalt. He had just two points entering the fourth, but scored 12 in the fi nal quarter. However, Kingfisher couldn’t fully close the gap. Covalt led the team with 14 points. Dallen Barton scored fi ve, Coleman Gilles four and Ethan Karcher and Jake Reagan had three apiece. The squad is now 3-3, which includes a third-place finish at the Canadian Valley Conference Tournament.
