Lady Jackets make even more history
Wrestlers win 1st team championship
A couple weeks ago, the Kingfisher girls wrestling program got its first dual win.
Now it owns a tournament championship as well.
The Lady Jackets had three champions and several other medalists over the weekend to win the team title at the Kingfisher High School Invitational.
Mylene Jones, Zoey Padilla and Delissa Evans all won their respective weight classes as KHS racked up 54 points.
Hinton was the runner- up with 47.5 and Marlow third with 25.
Jones pinned both of her foes to win the 110-pound title.
Padilla claimed the 125130 pound title.
She picked up three falls and one medical forfeit.
Padilla’s toughest match came from another county foe.
She defeated Cashion’s Alex Jerry with a fall at 3:36.
None of Padilla’s other matches went beyond the first period.
Jerry won all of her other matches to finish second in the bracket.
She scored 12 of Cashion’s 13 total points.
Evans won gold at 140145 for KHS.
She needed a total of 2:12 to pin her two opponents.
Alexi Otey was second at 100 pounds and Taygen Otey also claimed silver at 115-120.
Serenity Starr was the bronze medal winner at 105 pounds, Rylee Hamil was third at 125-130A and Emma McLean third at 125-130B, which was the bracket won by Padilla.
