Mueggenborg an All-State selection
Okarche standout will be coached by Cashion’s Hardaway this July

John Hardaway has coached against Hunter Mueggenborg for the last four years.
Now he’ll have the opportunity to coach him.
After helping lead Okarche to back-to-back Class A state championships, Mueggenborg was among the selections last week to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State boys basketball team.
He will represent the Small West (Classes 3A down to B) when it plays the Small East during the annual OCA All-State Games.
The game will be played at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Memorial Veterans Arena in Tulsa.
The Small West will be coached by Hardaway, who guided Cashion to the Class 2A state tournament this season.
The Wildcats lost to No. 1 Dale, which went on to win its fourth straight state title. Cashion’s 74-55 defeat in the quarterfinals was Dale’s closest playoff game.
Cashion finished the season 22-9.
Its only losses in the Three Rivers Conference were to Okarche - once in the regular season and once in the conference tournament championship game.
Of the Cashion boys’ six state tournament qualifiers, Hardaway has coached four of them.
Mueggenborg’s Okarche team went 32-0 on it way to the program’s third state title.
During his senior season, Mueggenborg averaged 14 points, 6 assists and 4 steals a game.
He shot 50 percent from the field, including 37 percent from 3-point range.
For his career, Mueggenborg scored 1,279 points and averaged 4.7 assists.
Okarche was 103-15 in his four years, including 85-7 during the last three years.
