Northwestern Oklahoma State women’s basketball coach has announced the hiring of the team’s new assistant coach in Kinsey Neiderer.

Neiderer is a 2017 Okarche High School graduate who just completed her playing career at NWOSU last season.

“First, I’d like to thank Jakeria Otey for everything she did to help move our program forward these past few years,” said NWOSU head coach Tasha Diesselhorst, the daughter of hall of fame coach Randy Turney, a former coach at Dover.

“She has been a Lady Ranger through and through for the past seven years and will be greatly missed.”

Neiderer takes over the assistant coaching job after spending the last two seasons with the Lady Rangers program.

The guard played and started in all 29 games this past season, helping the Rangers to their first winning season since the 2000-2001 season.

“I could not be more thankful or excited for this opportunity,” Neiderer said.

“This program is very special to me and has had a significant impact on my life. I consider myself blessed to be able to continue to learn from Coach Diesselhorst and take on a new role in Lady Ranger basketball.”

Neiderer was a two-year team captain in her playing career with the Lady Rangers.

She finished last season with the most three pointers on the team with 50 and was the third-highest scorer on the team.

“I am excited to add Kinsey to our coaching staff for the 2022-2023 season,” Diesselhorst said.

“She comes from a very successful high school program and is familiar with girls basketball in Oklahoma. As a recent graduate of our program, she knows our system and can relate to everything our student athletes will go through.”

Neiderer earned All-State honors at Okarche after helping lead the Lady Warriors to the Class A state finals during her senior season.

She was a two-year starter for the Okarche program after starting at Hennessey during her freshman and sophomore seasons.

Neiderer helped lead the Lady Warriors to the Class A semifinals in 2016.

Prior to being hired onto the Lady Ranger coaching staff Neiderer worked for Northwestern as a student Assistant to the Vice President of Administration while working in the accounting department.

After graduating NWOSU with her bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a minor in general business, she will now pursue her master’s degree in adult education management and administration with a minor in sports administration.
