It was a display of domination rarely - if ever - seen in the tournament.

Okarche completed its dismantling of the Three Rivers Conference Tournament field on Saturday night by running past Fairview 87-57 in the championship game at the Eagle Event Center in Hennessey.

The Warriors’ 72-44 win over Cashion in the semifinals proved to be their closest margin of victory as they beat their three foes by an average of 38 points.

“The guys played extremely hard and were really focused this week,” said coach Aaron West after his team improved to 10-2 on the season.

Relentless defense and selflessness on offense spurred the championship run.

The Warriors forced 29 turnovers against Fairview and turned them into 37 points.

It was much the same against Cashion, which committed 30 turnovers that led to 32 Okarche points.

The Warriors had 24 assists in the title game and 18 in the semifinals.

“What they did really well was share the basketball this week,” West said. “If they keep sharing it like that, they could be hard to stop.”

The rest of the TRC field would find it hard to argue.

Okarche also made 13 3-pointers against Fairview.

Jett Mueggenborg knocked down 5 of 10 attempts as part of his gamehigh 31 points.

Wyatt Pinkerton made four more treys and scored 14.

Okarche also got 16 points from Easton Roby and 10 from Caden Schieber.

Hunter Mueggenborg just missed double digits with nine points and also led the team with nine assists.

Roby led the team with 18 points in the semifinals.

Jett Mueggenborg added 16, Pinkerton 13 and Hunter Mueggenborg 11.

It was Okarche’s fifth time to win the conference tournament since it began in 2003, but the first time since 2016.

“We’ve got to keep working, but I’m really proud of them,” West said.

“This tournament is tough and always hard to win.”

Fairview got into the championship by upsetting top-seeded defending champ Hennessey 48-47 on Friday.

The Yellowjackets’ Brant Strader nailed a 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds to play to provide his team the game winner.

Hennessey had seemingly secured the win when, leading 47-45, it forced a turnover with 14.9 seconds left.

However, Garett Vinalso son missed a pair of free throws with 12.4 seconds remaining, giving Fairview another opportunity.

After Strader’s shot went through, Hennessey called a timeout, but didn’t get off a shot as time expired on the ensuing play.

Jael Torres scored 25 to lead the Eagles in the loss while Camdyn Richardson scored 14.

Hennessey came back Saturday to claim third with a 55-28 victory against Cashion.

The Eagles held Cashion scoreless in the second quarter to take a 24-8 lead.

Torres scored 21 while James Sims poured in 16. Vinson added 11.

Cashion was led by Drake Woody’s nine points while Kamden Miller scored eight.

Carson Gump and Woody scored eight apiece in Friday’s semifinal loss to Okarche.
