When she was earning All-American status in high school, Brandi (Lewallen) Nyberg dominated the court at Lomega High School’s gym.

On Saturday night in front of a full house, her daughter did the same thing.

Unfortunately for Lomega, Braci Nyberg suits up for Seiling.

Class A’s top-ranked and defending state champion Ladycats overpowered Lomega in the the third quarter to earn a 69-41 road win.

Class B’s second-ranked Lady Raiders were within 25-21 at halftime, but Seiling went on a 32-3 run in the third quarter.

Nyberg was a big part of it. The niece of Lomega coach Kevin Lewallen, the junior made three 3-pointers and scored 13 points in the decisive run.

She got help from fellow junior Kenly Gore, who scored 10 points during that stretch.

Meanwhile, the Lady Raiders, who saw a nine-game win streak come to an end, managed just one field goal in the quarter.

That was the case in the first quarter as well while the visitors saw four different players make a 3-pointer.

Still, Lomega kept within 13-7. Darcy Roberts scored five in the second quarter and Abby Swart, who missed parts of two games after being injured the week before, added four more.

They helped the Lady Raiders pull within four at the half.

But the Ladycats poured in five 3-pointers in the third quarter and eight in the second half.

They made 14 of them in the game to Lomega’s three.

Nyberg led all scorers with 21 points while Gore scored 17.

Isabella Hammons made four 3-pointers and scored 13 points.

Sydni Walker led Lomega (22-2) with eight points.

Swart, Roberts, Paige Wheeler and Kate Myers scored seven apiece.

Seiling was 19-1 after the win. Its lone loss was to Class 6A’s undefeated Edmond North, which is ranked No. 1 in that class.

Lomega had a much easier time the night before when it downed Timberlake 73-29 at home.

The Lady Raiders made their big run in the second quarter as they outscored their foe 30-6.

Roberts led all scorers with 24 points.

Walker added nine and Hadley Ott scored eight.
