Okarche gives Jennings a break with easy victory

For the first time this season, Kelli Jennings was almost able to relax down the stretch of a game.

After starting the season against basketball stalwarts Preston, Lomega and Calumet, the Lady Warriors had no trouble last Tuesday disposing of Harding Fine Arts, 72-21, at home.

“Yes, it was nice (to relax),” Jennings said after her team improved to 3-1.

The game was decided early as Okarche started with a 30-9 run and pushed the lead to 36 points by halftime.

Eleven different Lady Warriors scored in a balanced attack.

Marlo Hunt and Rachel McDowell led the way with 10 points apiece.

They combined for 13 in the fi rst quarter.

Raegan Robinson had five of her nine points in the fi rst quarter.

Sage Griswold also scored nine points.

Warriors end losing skid

with easy win

The Okarche boys put an end to a two-game losing skid by dismantling Harding 68-35.

Four different Warriors scored in the fi rst quarter as Okarche started with a 20-11 lead.

That advantage swelled to 45-21 by the end of the half.

Kaleb Harris led the team with 19 points, including 13 in the first half. He didn’t play in the fourth quarter.

The same went for Evan Endres and Logan Kroener, who also scored in double fi gures.

Endres had all 15 of his points by halftime and Kroener scored nine of his 13 before the break.

Ten different Okarche players scored as they upped their season record to 2-2.
