Okarche to host baseball regional; Lomega, Dover teams hit the road
The Okarche Warriors are looking for their first trip to the spring state tournament since 2015.
They’ll host a double- elimination Class A regional tournament this week to end that drought.
Joining the fifth-ranked Warriors are No. 12 Pioneer, Porum and Barnsdall. Okarche advanced to last fall’s state tournament and reached the semifinal round.
The Lomega baseball team will make the short drive to Kiowa (209 miles) for a Class B baseball regional.
The Raiders take on No. 11 Leedey (270 miles) in the opener. Also there are the No. 6 Kiowa Cowboys and Covington-Douglas.
That regional has been moved up a day and willbegin Wednesday.
One team advances from each of eight baseball regionals to the following week’s state tournament.
