Shaw, Harviston deliver big as Dover takes two in Gracemont
Dover erased a halftime deficit with a dominant third quarter at Gracemont Friday to snap its losing streak.
The Longhorns outscored the Lions 21-7 just after halftime to pull out a 57-45 road win.
It put an end to a threegame skid and improved Dover to 2-3 on the season.
The Longhorns were down 27-23 after Gracemont went on a 19-11 spurt in the second quarter.
Braxton Hendricks and Ricky Hagan combined to score all 19 of those points.
However, the duo scored just six points in the third as Dover’s Emory Norton and Kolten Shaw began to heat up.
Norton knocked down a trio of 3-pointers and scored 11 points in the third.
Shaw added six more points as Dover took command with a 10-point lead.
The Longhorns maintained the advantage in the fourth as Shaw dominated.
He scored 12 of Dover’s 13 points in the final frame and ended his night with a game-high 25 points.
Norton scored 15.
Damion Turner also chipped in 12 points.
Hendricks led Gracemont with 23 while Hagan scored 17 overall.
Harviston has big night
Katelyn Harviston single-handedly outscored Gracemont as Dover won its second straight game.
The sophomore scored 24 points Friday in the Lady Longhorns’ 67-22 road win.
The victory moved the Lady Longhorns to 3-2 entering the Thanksgiving break.
Harviston poured in 14 second-quarter points as the Lady Longhorns turned what was already a 15-point advantage into a 44-6 lead at halftime.
The lead grew to 61-14 by the end of the third quarter.
Joi Caldwell chipped in another 12 points for the Lady Longhorns.
They also got eight points from Kamree McNulty.
