Snider passes milestone as KHS wins
Senior scores 25, grabs 8 boards, eclipses 1,000
Raegan Snider snagged a career milestone as Kingfi sher found itself back in the win column.
Snider surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career Tuesday in leading KHS to a 57-38 victory at home against a pesky Blanchard squad.
The Northwestern Oklahoma State University signee needed five points entering the night to hit 1,000.
She got it - and passed it with 3:30 to play in the first quarter when her driving bucket gave her six points.
But she was far from done.
Snider ended her night with 25 points and eight rebounds, both game highs.
A lot of it was needed. Blanchard came in with a sub-.500 record and had arguably its best player move out the week before.
Still, the Lady Lions came out swinging and led Kingfisher 13-12 after a quarter.
The Lady Jacket defense stiffened and didn’t give up a field goal in the second frame.
Snider continued to score and got some help from her teammates in a 17-2 run to take a 14-point halftime lead.
The lead grew to 19 points in the third quarter before Blanchard made one last run.
The Lady Lions countered with their own 15-4 run to cut Kingfisher’s lead to eight.
KHS closed the third quarter on a 5-0 run and commanded the rest of the night.
Snider got her points on 12 of 16 shooting, which also included a 3-pointer.
She also had three assists and two steals.
Abbie Myers added 12 points and four boards. She deflected six passes as Kingfisher forced 28 turnovers and scored 24 points off of them.
Reese Roof chipped in eight points as Kingfi sher improved to 11-3 overall and 4-2 in the Western Athletic Conference.
