Olivia Wilcox had perhaps her best performance of the season Monday, but Kingfisher’s offense couldn’t help produce her a win.

The Lady Jackets saw their District 4A-1 softball record evened up with a 3-1 home loss to Perkins-Tryon.

Kingfisher stranded 10 baserunners and collected just four hits while striking out nine times.

“We just couldn’t get that key hit and left too many on base,” coach Danny Green said after his team moved to 2-2 in the district and 5-4 overall.

Wilcox was saddled with the hard-luck loss despite surrendering just two hits and not giving up an earned run.

A walk, error and passed ball led to the Lady Demons’ first run in the fourth inning.

After KHS tied it up in the bottom half of the frame, Perkins took the lead for good with a run in the sixth when KHS committed two errors.

Yet another error led to an insurance run for Perkins in the seventh.

Mia Farrell drove in Kingfisher’s lone run with a single to score Macy Mc-Cully in the fourth.

McCully had reached on a walk.

However, KHS lost the opportunity for more runs in the frame as it left the bases loaded.

Kingfisher also had the tying run on base in the seventh frame.

Farrell had two of the Lady Jackets’ four hits.

The others belonged to Wilcox and Mya Dewberry.

The loss came after KHS went 3-2 in the Woodward Tournament over the weekend.

The tournament started Thursday with a 7-3 loss to Laverne. KHS answered Friday with a 13-1 victory over Seiling.

It followed that Saturday by run-ruling Woodward JV 12-0 and avenging the earlier loss to Laverne, 15-3.

The Lady Jackets’ run ended Saturday with an 11-1 loss to Elk City.
