Okarche defeated No. 12 Pioneer 1-0 Friday evening to win its Class A regional and advance to this week’s state tournament.

It’s Okarche’s first trip to the spring state tournament since 2015.

The Warriors advanced to the Class A semifinals last fall.

The win against Pioneer has been Okarche’s lone close game of these playoffs.

The Warriors won their three district games by a combined 42-0 with a 10-0 victory over Garber being the closest win, At the regional, the Warriors outscored their foes 31-3.

Okarche enters state ranked fifth and with a 22-4 mark.

The Warriors play No. 4 Wright City (25-4) at 11 a.m. Thursday in the quarterfi nals at Shawnee High School.

Other first-round games see No. 1 Tushka playing No. 9 Canute at 1:30 p.m.; No. 3 Rattan vs. No. 6 Amber Pocasset at 4 p.m.; and No. 2 Dewar vs. No. 7 Arapaho-Butler at 6:30 p.m.

The semifinals will also be at Shawnee High School.

The Okarche-Wright City winner plays the Tushka- Canute winner at 11 a.m. Friday. The other semifinal will be played at 1:30 p.m.

The state title game is set for 3 p.m. Saturday at Shawnee.

Cashion’s quest to get back to the state tournament will go through...Cashion.

The third-ranked Wildcats are the top seed in a Class 2A regional they’ll host beginning Thursday.

Joining Cashion are Merritt, Stroud and Hartshorne.

Cashion plays Merritt at 11 a.m. Thursday to open the double-elimination regional.

The Wildcats are looking to get back to state for the fourth consecutive season.

Hennessey is looking for its first trip to state since 2014.

The Eagles will have to take down No. 1 Oktaha at least once to get back.

The Eagles travel to Oktaha along with Morrison and Vian in a 2A regional.

Hennessey and Oktaha play at 11 a.m. Thursday.

The winner plays again at 4 p.m. while the loser plays an elimination game at 6:30 p.m.
