Chris Palmer
God took Chris Palmer, 73, home for eternal rest Friday Sept. 20, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family, after a lengthy illness.
Chris was born Sept. 3, 1951.
He was raised in Enid and graduated from Enid High School.
He was a lifelong oilfield worker and last worked for Plaster and Wald Drilling as a consultant. He also had Chris’ Auto in Kingfisher for several years.
He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, playing pool, poker and woodworking.
In his last years, he liked old westerns. “Shane” and “Cool Hand Luke” were his favorite movies and playing online game Evony.
He loved his dog Buster, his best friend and companion for 11 years.
He often said he had a good life.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Palmer, and his grandparents.
He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Doris Palmer; five children, Pete Palmer and wife Bridgett of Kingfisher, Diana Barger and husband Josh of Oklahoma City, Stacy Turner and partner Wade House of Dover, Ronald Cowens of Caulfield, Mo., and Brandy Zachgo and husband Eric of Kingfi sher; nine grandchildren, Dakota Palmer and wife Heather, Dalton Palmer and wife Stephanie, Devin Palmer, Camdyn Palmer, Ashley Muns and husband Kevin, Chelsey Hux and husband Jeff, Hayden Turner, Kennon Butler and Jaydn Zachgo. He was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Bird Creek Cemetery in Big Four. Services are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Service.
