Eleven Kingfisher High School football players were honored Tuesday when coaches selected the 3A-1 All-District team.

Nine of them were selected as either a player of the year or to the first team.

That includes Landon Rempe, who was tabbed the Offensive Lineman of the Year and Jose Santoyo, who was named the Defensive Lineman of the Year.

Rempe started at right tackle all 11 games for KHS. He helped pave the way for an offense that gained over 3,200 yards and scored 32 touchdowns.

Santoyo started mostly at defensive tackle, but also played some at defensive end for KHS. He recorded more than 60 tackles and had a eight tackles for loss.

He also started all season at left guard on offense.

Earning first-team honors for KHS were Paytun Burnham and Santiago Ortega at wide receiver; Robert Barnett at offensive line; Daniel Guerrero and Ryker Long at defensive line; Jairo Velarde at linebacker; and Jake Sisk at kicker.

Second-team honorees were Bert Haag on the offensive line and Chace Cooper at linebacker.

Only seniors are eligible for all-district. The all-district awards are voted on by the district’s coaches.

KHS went 5-6 overall on the season and was 4-3 in district games.

The Jackets advanced to the Class 3A playoffs before losing to Sulphur in the opening round.
