Eight Cashion football players earned all-district honors, including three who were named players of the year at their respective positions.

Voted by District A-I-1 as the position players of the year were Kellen Smith at quarterback, Rival Fields at running back and Kaleb Duran at outside linebacker.

Only a sophomore, Smith was thrust into the starting role in the first week of the season when Ethan Waswo was injured against Hennessey.

He ended up throwing for 2,033 yards and 23 touchdowns while running for 991 yards and nine more TDs.

Fields, also a sophomore, ran for 738 yards and eight scores. He showed his versatility by catching 29 passes for 377 yards and six scores.

A senior, Duran led Cashion with 92 tackles from his linebacker position.

He had 9.5 tackles for a loss while also doubling as a starter on the offensive line.

Named to the first team on offense were Greyson Davis at wide receiver and Timmy Jones on the offensive line.

Defensive selections were Matthew Stockton at defensive line and Maxx Higdon in the backfield.

Adilee Jerry garnered first-team honors as a kicker.

Cashion went 5-2 in the district this season, finishing third behind Hooker (the state runner-up) and Fairview (state semifinalist).

Hooker’s Trevor Powers was voted Coach of the Year.

The co-district MVPs were Kleat Martens of Hooker and Jax Bernard of Fairview.

Justin Palacios of Hooker was the offensive MVP and Boden Miller of Fairview the defensive MVP.

Overall, Cashion was 8-4 and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
