Read moreRep. Mike Dobrinski, Sen. Darcy Jech and Sen. Chuck Hall hosted and honored the Kingfisher High School boys basketball team recently at the state Capitol. The Yellowjackets won the 2021 Class 4A boys basketball state championship as well as the 4A academic state championship in the sport. The win capped a 25-1 season and was the second state championship for the current class of seniors. That group concluded its four-year run with a 107-4 record, which is the best win percentage in Oklahoma high school boys basketball history. That included a 47-game win streak and never losing on their home court. Read moreKingfisher High School’s choir in April participated in the WorldStrides Virtual Festival, a national festival with international attendees. More than 150 ensembles participated. Kingfisher’s choir received a Gold 3rd at the festival. Gold is the highest rating bracket, equivalent to receiving a superior rating and the crème de la crème of participating ensembles. “It was a great way to finish off a fantastic year,” said Kingfisher vocal director Diann Magnus.
