State Fair Arena had a distinct Kingfisher County flavor last week as three local teams took part in the Class A and B state basketball tournaments. The Dover girls, Lomega girls and Okarche boys all qualified for state AND won quarterfinal games. Ultimately, the Lady Raiders proved queens of Class B once again while the Okarche boys reigned supreme in Class A. For the Lady Raiders, it was a 16th title, adding to their record. The Okarche boys won for just the second time in program history... with the other being more than four decades ago. For more on these teams’ runs to the gold ball, as well as how other county teams have fared in the playoffs, see Pages 6-8 inside. [KT&FP Staff Photos]
