Eileen Niles-Scott

Eileen Imogene Niles-Scott passed away June 26, 2020, at her home in El Reno at the age of 91.

She was born Feb. 15, 1929, in El Reno to Albert and Juanita Niles.

She had two brothers, Benny and Paul Niles, and two sisters, Gloris Niles-Sheets and Charolet Plunk.

Each have preceded her in death.

After World War II, Eileen served with the Red Cross.

Later in life, she became a nursing home administrator, serving at centers in Kingfisher and Chickasha.

She was chosen to be an ombudsman for the El Reno Nursing Home. Eileen was a volunteer grandmother at El Reno Elementary.

While in her 80s, her volunteer work included hospice care and Meals on Wheels.

Eileen is best known for her kind, generous spirit and for her gift of offering encouragement to all who knew her.

She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Lt. Col Leonard B. Scott Jr., the father of her six living children.

They are: Leonard B. Scott III and his wife Connie of Edmond; Susie Scott Drinkwitz and her husband Jerry of Mulberry, Ark; Sherry Scott-Verser of Bethany; William “Tuffy” Clayton Scott of Fayetteville, Ark.; Sunnye Bea Scott-Thompson and her husband Clay of Oklahoma City; and Shane Dale Scott of Dallas, Texas. Eileen was blessed with 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Eileen leaves a multitude of friends, cousins, nieces and nephews from the Niles, Roblyer and Scott families who deeply loved and cared for her.

Special thanks to the staff of Russell-Murray Hospice for caring and loving Eileen in her final days.

She will be most remembered by a phrase she coined, “Make it a good day!”
