Cashion grabs homecoming wins

Cashion snapped a twogame skid Friday with a 55-45 win against Watonga on homecoming night.

JayleeHarpwascrowned homecoming queen and Vincent Raney the king.

Once the ball was tipped, Harp was one of three Cashion players in double figures with 14 points.

Cashion was up by three points at halftime, then gained some distance by outscoring Watonga 21-13 in the third quarter.

Brooke Shafer knocked in 20 points and Kate Nabavi scored 12.

That win put Cashion at 13-8 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

Mitchell racking up points

Parker Mitchell put together back-to-back massive games as Cashion grabbed two wins.

The senior guard poured in 34 points Thursday as the Wildcats outlasted Hennessey 59-54 on the road.

He returned home the next night to score 27 as they downed Watonga 7662.

Mitchell’s showing Thursday offset a trio of Eagles who scored in double figures.

Hagen Copeland notched 21 points on 9 of 13 shooting.

The Eagles also got 18 from Beau Vinson and 11 from Freddy Meraz.

The teams were tight throughout as Cashion led by six after a quarter before Hennessey cut its deficit to 3 entering the fourth.

Grayson Little chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds for the visitors.

Cashion dominated the first and third quarters in the win over Watonga.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 26-14 edge after one quarter.

Watonga was within 9 at the half before Cashion went on a 30-10 run in the third.

Mitchell and Kyle Yowell combined for nine of Cashion’s 12 3-pointers.

Mitchell was 4 of 8 from long range while Yowell went 5 of 9.

Yowell finished his night with 16 points.

In a repeat of the night before, Little scored 11 and pulled in 7 boards.

After the win, Cashion was 14-6 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
