Cashion sends PC-H home with 2 losses

A dominant second quarter and some sharpshooting by Parker Mitchell propelled Cashion past Pond Creek-Hunter last Tuesday.
Mitchell scored 29 points as the Wildcats downed the visiting Panthers 59-48.
It was Cashion’s eighth win in nine games.
Pond Creek-Hunter, ranked 17th in Class A and coming off a game in which it ended Dover’s 14-game win streak, led Cashion by six after the first quarter.
But the home team went on a 25-7 run in the second quarter and kept control of the game in the second half.
Mitchell was 10 of 14 from the field - including 4 of 6 from 3-point range and made all five of his free throws to earn his point total.
Drake Woody delivered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Cashion out-rebounded the Panthers 29-16.
The Wildcats moved to 13-4 with their victory.
••• There was no comeback needed for the Cashion girls, though they did have to shrug off a slow start in their 56-21 victory.
Cashion led just 6-5 after a quarter, but outscored the Lady Panthers 37-5 over the next 16 minutes.
It was the Lady Wildcats’ second straight win as they moved to 11-6 on the season.
