KHS girls TCOB at winless Clinton

There was no slacking off for the Kingfisher Lady Jackets, even against a lesser foe.

KHS took care of business early Friday in a 64-30 win at Clinton.

The Lady Reds entered the game winless while KHS was on a nine-game win streak.

Peyton Walker and Addy Matthews combined for five 3-pointers in the first quarter as KHS got out to a 21-9 lead.

The defense then only allowed seven points over the next two quarters as the lead swelled to 56-16 through three frames.

Walker made four 3-pointers total and finished with 14 points, five assists and six steals.

Matthews made three treys as part of her 11 points.

Raegan Snider added 13 points and five rebounds.

Kingfisher had 18 steals as a team, forced 32 turnovers overall and scored 28 points off turnovers.

Clinton didn’t score a single point in the paint, while KHS managed 28.

Mattie Slezickey added nine points for Kingfisher while adding three assists and two steals.

Kingfisher was 16-4 after the victory.

Since dropping to 2-3 with a loss to McAlester in the opener of the Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Classic, the Lady Jackets have won 14 of their last 15 games.
