Hennessey put together a couple of wins late last week and now has six victories in its last seven games.

The Lady Eagles downed Three Rivers Conference foe Cashion 47-38 at home on Thursday and backed it up Friday by dominating Perry 61-30.

The win over Cashion pushed the Lady Eagles to 3-2 in the conference.

After falling behind early, Hennessey came back for a two-point halftime lead.

That’s when Emma Copeland heated up.

The Lady Eagle guard already had 6 points, but knocked down 5 in the third quarter as Hennessey’s lead extended to 5 points. She scored 7 more in the fourth, including going 4 of 4 from the free throw line.

Copeland finished with 18 points.

Jaylee Harp led to Cashion’s fast start as she scored 9 in the first quarter, but didn’t manage to score again.

Tinley Meier nailed four 3-pointers for her 12 points and Brooke Shafer joined Harp in scoring 9.

Hennessey got 10 points out of Star Torres. She also scored 5 in the third quarter.

Copeland then scored 16 in the route of Perry.

She had 5 at the half, but went off for 11 in the third quarter.

Clare Munroe added 12 points, 10 of which came in the first half.

The win over Perry pushed Hennessey to a 16-4 overall record.

Another Copeland goes off...

Hagen Copeland burned up the nets to get Hennessey back on the winning track.

One night after losing at home to Cashion (see related story), Copeland scored 33 points as the Eagles whipped Perry 55-32.

Copeland got it going early with four 3-pointers and 16 points in the first quarter as the Eagles staged a 12-point lead.

While he didn’t continue at that pace, Copeland kept scoring.

He made two more 3-pointers in the second quarter and another in the fourth, giving him seven in the game.

Beau Vinson added to the first quarter barrage with a 3-pointer and scored all 7 of his points in the first half.

Hennessey was 9-11 after the win.
