Lady Eagles grab double OT victory at Okarche

The large lead slipped away… and then it was gone.
But Hennessey still found a way to grab a victory Tuesday in Okarche.
The Lady Eagles outscored their hosts 10-2 in the second overtime to take home a 51-45 win.
Hennessey led by as many as 11 in the fourth quarter before Okarche charged back.
Katie Parham and Scout Payne combined for three 3-pointers to get their team back in it.
Then, with 10 seconds to play, Avery Schieber’s putback while being fouled got Okarche wtihin a point.
Schieber made the foul shot to tie it and Okarche got a stop on the other end, forcing the overtime.
The Lady Warriors took a threepoint lead in the overtime period, but Katie Kennedy dropped perhaps the biggest shot of the game for her team.
The lone Hennessey senior nailed a 3-pointer with 1:13 left to knot the game at 41-41.
Okarche got the last possession in the first extra period, but Scout Payne didn’t get up a good look on the final possession.
In the second OT, Okarche managed just two free throws.
The Lady Eagles, meanwhile, got three-point plays from Kennedy and Emily Goff to help preserve the win.
Hennessey got a game-high 19 points from Claire Munroe as it improved to 7-6.
Kennedy finished her night with 17. Thirteen of those came in the fourth quarter and two overtimes.
Okarche’s Payne and Parham scored 14 apiece.
They combined for all eight of Okarche 3-pointers.
The Lady Warriors moved to 10-7 on the season.
