Lady Jackets get 2nd win over Woodward
Woodward attempted to guard Kingfisher with a man-to-man defense for much of the first half on Tuesday.
It didn’t go well, nor did much of the rest of the night as KHS cruised to a 61-39 victory at the APB.
Feasting on that manto- man was senior Raegan Snider.
She patrolled the inside and her teammates made it a point to run the offense through her.
The result was 22 firsthalf points for the 6-foot post.
After scoring 14 in the first quarter, she added eight more in the second.
That was part of a 16-6 run that saw Kingfisher extend its lead to 36-21 at the half.
Mattie Slezickey also made two of her three 3-pointers during that stretch.
The lead grew to 50-29 by the end of the third quarter as Reese Roof and Ela Hartman added 3-pointers and Abbie Myers scored six of her points.
But it was inside that counted the most.
All told, KHS outscored Woodward 38-20 in the paint and had a 26-29 rebound advantage.
Snider ended her night with 28 points and six rebounds.
She was 13 of 19 from the field.
Slezickey scored 11 points and also distributed a game-high six assists.
Myers scored 11 to go with five rebounds and four assists as the Lady Jackets bumped their season record to 18-4.
