Dover managed to build much of its lead in the third quarter at Medford on Tuesday.

Then the Longhorns hit just enough free throws to hold onto it.

Dover improved to 6-7 on the season when it outlasted the Cardinals 42-37.

Up two at the half, Dover outscored its hosts 16-10 in the third quarter.

Four different Longhorns scored in the frame, but Kolten Shaw did the most damage with seven points.

In the fourth, Dover had just one field goal, but was sent to the foul line 17 times.

The Longhorns connected on just eight of them, but still kept the Cardinals from catching up.

Shaw knocked down 3 of 4 attempts in the final stanza.

He scored 12 of his gamehigh 19 points in the second half.

Damion Turner added seven points while Carlos Flores scored six.

Medford was paced by Eli Gonzales’ 12 points.

Harvistons combine for 52 Unfortunately for Medford, it was a Harviston season on Tuesday.

Dover’s junior twins combined for 52 points as the Lady Longhorns motored to a 67-32 road win in their return from the holiday break.

Karlee Harviston netted 31 points while Katelyn Harviston added 21 more as Dover improved to 10-3.

The duo scored all of Dover’s first-quarter points as it jumped to a 15-5 lead.

Karlee took over in the second when she poured in 14 points to help push the advantage to 23 points at the break.

The third quarter saw Katleyn take her turn.

She scored 11 points as Dover continued to build on its lead.

Dover, ranked 16th in Class B, also got 11 points from Ashley Gamez.

The sophomore made three 3-pointers in the contest.
