Dover turns up the heat on A-C
There was no trouble getting back on the winning track for Dover.
The Lady Longhorns dismantled Aline-Cleo from the start on Tuesday and turned it to an 80-13 road win.
Coming off their first loss of the season at Geronimo on Saturday, the Lady Longhorns scored 33 points and led by 30 at the end of the first quarter.
Karlee Harviston had more points by the end of that quarter (15) than the Lady Cougars scored in the game.
She finished her night with 20 points and was just one of five Lady Longhorns in double figures.
Madison Goodwin scored eight of her 17 points in the second as Dover extended its lead to 51-6.
Katelyn Harviston and Ashley Gamez scored 12 points apiece while Kylee Bell chipped in 10 points.
Dover, ranked No. 1 in Class B, is 21-1 with three regular-season games remaining.
Buck big in easy Longhorn victory
Casen Buck put on an early scoring show that helped propel Dover to its 14th win.
The Dover freshman had as many points in the early portions of the first quarter as the Longhorns’ opponent did for the game in a 92-21 road win at Aline-Cleo.
Buck nailed four first-quarter treys and scored 21 points as the Longhorns staked a 38-9 lead.
He got a lot of help from junior Lucas Conrady, who notched all 14 of his points in that opening frame.
As a team, Dover made 10 treys.
Nathan Cohee had two of them and scored 12 points.
Randy Vitalis added nine for the Longhorns, who are now 14-8 on the season and have won three straight.
