Okarche has state ticket within reach

Okarche’s Ethan Kirby attempts to backhand a ball at second base during his team’s 13-3 win over Barnsdall in the opening game of the Class A baseball regional. The Warriors followed up that win with a 17-0 victory over Porum on Thursday evening, leaving them one win shy of reaching the state tournament. The first opportunity came Friday evening (after press time) when Okarche was set to host the Porum-Pioneer winner at 6:30 p.m. If Okarche won, the Warriors punched their ticket to state.
